With the beginning of the new year, I'd like to start posting a monthly newsletter for the Sacred Flame Circle. It will have reviews of some of the events and rituals we've put together and will announce the upcoming events as well as show off the creative talents of our members.

REFLECTIONS This group started out as vision from Spirit. A place where persons of all faiths could come and gather and feel welcome. I created the group and then started advertising it slowly. People started asking questions and giving the group a try. They must have liked what they found because we now have a great group of members that have helped create what Sacred Flame Circle is today. We are a real time Spiritual group, meeting for rituals and workshops and potlucks and having a great time while we are at it. We are also a support group for each other as we walk our paths. Most of us are on different Pagan paths, but we do have some that are not and some that are still seeking. The Goddess must have known what we needed, because this group has turned out to be better than I could have ever hoped. DECEMBER WORKSHOP BOOK OF SHADOWS: WHAT ARE THEY? HOW DO WE GET ONE? This workshop was presented by Rev. Dawn with much input by the members who attended. We went over the history of the BOS, the different ways or organizing one and the different methods of creating them. A couple members showed their Book of Shadows and explained why they chose the method that they did and how it works for them. We also covered some Frequently Asked Questions about Book of Shadows. An example was: What is a Book of Shadows? A book of Shadows (BOS) is a Wiccan workbook containing many different items that a Witch may need in their practice of the Craft. Your Book of Shadows is your most important form of record keeping. It is a reflection of your spiritual journey. It can be a reflection of any rituals you do, any spells you cast, and thoughts and feelings that you have. A BOS is a record of all magical workings you do and their results. Try thinking of your BOS as a study of your life and the magic you create and witness. Personally, I learned a lot from designing the workshop and from the members that spoke up and shared during the presentation. Thanks everyone!! -----Namaste!, Rev.
