Well, if you are interested in the group, I think it's only fair that I tell you a little about myself. I currently live in the Columbus, OH area and have lived in the central OH area for the last ten years. I'm originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland and I must say that I truly miss the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. I am 37 years old and in my 2nd marriage (to my soulmate). I have 2 sons, 2 cats and a beautiful dog. I work full-time at the moment, but I also spend a lot of time facilitating SFC, providing Reiki sessions, teaching Reiki, officiating at weddings and studying Sacred Sexuality. I paint, write, x-stitch, make candles and am VERY social. *grin*I started studying Pagan religions about 9 years ago when we got internet connected. I had always been interested in my Cherokee background but could never get any information from the family about our heritage. I started devouring all information I could find on Native American beliefs.
I had spent a lot of time as a kid in the Baptist and Church of God of Prophecy churches, but no one could answer a lot of questions I had. What I found when I studied the Native religions astounded me. It felt like I had found my answers, or at least had found the path to the answers.
Then I found Wicca and it felt like I had come home. Again, I went out and found everything I could find on it. I started in the public library, but any book that sounded interesting, couldn't be found on the shelves. They had all been stolen. That just made me more determined to find the books that I wanted. So, I started finding people online that would talk to me and I started meeting a few of them at bookstores in Columbus.
A few years later, I went through a really hard time where I had to do some work on myself and a lot of healing from my past. I found a womens group for childhood trauma survivors and she used Shamanic journeying to help us heal. This just verified in my head that I had found the right path. I've been working on this path slowly every since.
Then in January of 2003 and I found Witchschool.com and the Correllian Tradition and my slow journey became a speeding train. I devoured all the information I could find on the site, became a lifetime member of witchschool and took any and all classes that I could. I learned more from that school then I had in the years before of studying on my own. So, I worked hard and did the lessons and took the final exam to become a 1st degree Priestess of the Tradition. On 6-20-03 my application for clergy status was approved and I was sent my certificate. Two days later I mailed in my application to become a minister recognized by the State of Ohio so that I can solemnize marriages. I received the approval for this on 6-30-03.
I decided to put all this knowledge to use and share what I knew with others, and wanted others to keep teaching me. Sacred Flame Circle was born.
Recently I've made the decision to move beyond the Correllian Tradition. I'm constantly wanting to learn more and have learned what I can from that Tradition. I created Sacred Flame Temple and am currently ordained and licensened with the state through the Temple. I am also in the process of creating a Pagan Clergy Training Program through the Temple. Instead of focusing on being clergy for a particular path, this clergy training will involve the skills needed for someone to be Pagan Clergy no matter what path they follow.
My husband and I are also in the process of creating a Qadishti Temple. This Temple is not associated with SFC nor SFT.
If you have anything to ask me, feel free to write me.
Brightest Blessings
